Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Duplin County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its material, or using a search feature indicates acceptance of every term below. Anyone who does not agree should discontinue use.

NO FCRA USE. Duplin County Criminal History is privately operated and has no affiliation with a government body. This resource and its advertising partners do not provide services for credit decisions, employment screening, insurance underwriting, tenant evaluation, or another use regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The site helps readers locate official criminal-record resources in Duplin County, North Carolina. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site, independent of all government offices. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve records for visitors, perform official checks, or submit forms on anyone's behalf.

The content identifies public routes maintained by the Duplin County Sheriff, the North Carolina courts, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. Some pages also connect to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use is conditioned on the following restrictions. You will not:

  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools against these pages
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any connected system
  • Interfere with performance or another visitor's access
  • Use information to stalk, threaten, or harass a person
  • Use site content for hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions
  • Violate any applicable federal, state, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use information found here or through a linked tool to intimidate, threaten, stalk, harass, or unlawfully discriminate against another person. Registry data requires particular care. North Carolina G.S. 14-208.10 makes specified registration information public, but that access does not authorize criminal misuse. The registry serves public safety, not vigilantism or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Duplin County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It creates no credit report, background check, or consumer report. The site and its advertising partners offer no service designed to assess job applicants, rental applications, insurance risk, or creditworthiness. Information from these pages or a linked tool may not be used to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A person seeking a check for a regulated purpose must use a legally authorized, FCRA-compliant provider and follow all applicable consent and notice rules.

5. No Legal Advice

The material is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Duplin County charge, conviction, warrant, or North Carolina expunction law applies to one person's facts. Obtain advice from a licensed North Carolina attorney.

6. No Warranties

All content is offered "as is." No promise is made that:

  • An outside search result will be complete or correct
  • Pages will be free from faults or security defects
  • The service will remain available without interruption
  • Every fact will be complete, accurate, and current at all times

Charges, dispositions, access restrictions, and expunctions can alter a record. Delays and gaps are possible. Content on this domain is never an official statement from the Duplin County Sheriff, a North Carolina court, or another public agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links can lead to sheriff pages, North Carolina court portals, state agencies, legal resources, and outside search services. Those destinations are beyond our control. Their operators are responsible for availability, content, prices, and data handling. Review their terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Duplin County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, modified, distributed, or used to create derivative work without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim liability for damage arising from use of this site, including reliance on information supplied here or by a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, and legal actions caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms, including associated legal costs.

11. Governing Law

North Carolina law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from site use must be brought in a court located in North Carolina. Public access to government records is separately governed by the North Carolina Public Records Law, Chapter 132, and court records follow G.S. 7A-109.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised. A new version takes effect when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or ended at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

14. Severability
